چکیده

Textile industry is providing one of the most basic needs of the people and maintains sustained growth for improving quality of life. The Indian textile industry has been undergoing a rapid transformation and is in the process of integrating with the World textile trade and industry. The contribution of textile industries to the Indian economy is manifested in terms of its contribution to the industrial production, employment generation and foreign exchange earnings. It contributes 20% of industrial production, 9% of excise collections, 18% of employment in the industrial sector, nearly 20% to the country s total export earning and 4% to the gross domestic product. The first synthetic dye, Mauevin was manufactured in the year 1856, since then, more than 1,00,000 new synthetic dyes have been generated (Asad et al., 2007). These dyes were used in different industries, with an annual consumption of about 0.7 million tons worldwide (Chen et al., 2003; Saratale et al., 2006). Synthetic dyes were extensively used in many fields of upto date technology, for example in various branches ISSN: 2319-7706 Volume 3 Number 9 (2014) pp. 983-992 http://www.ijcmas.com

Decolourisation of reactive textile dye effluent by using Bacterial strain

The study was investigated the decolorization potentials of certan selected microbial species (bacterial) to an actual textile dyeing industry effluent. All the microbes tested namely (bacterial) Bacillus sp, pseudomonas sp, Acineto bacter, Legionella and Staphylococcus (bacterial) showed greater potential in decolorizing the dye effluent. Bacterial decolorization of textile effluents were crit...

Bioremediation of Textile Dye Effluent by Shewanella Putrefaciens

The aim of the present study was to use a bacterial isolate for decolorization and reduction of pollution from textile effluent. Shewanella putrefaciens was isolated from raw textile effluent and used to decolorize the effluent, in unoptimized and optimized conditions. In unoptimized condition the decolorization was 27.95% whereas in optimized condition it reached 63.15% (Chrysophenine optimize...

Bioremediation and Detoxification of Synthetic Wastewater Containing Triarylmethane Dyes by Aeromonas hydrophila Isolated from Industrial Effluent

Economical and bio-friendly approaches are needed to remediate dye-contaminated wastewater from various industries. In this study, a novel bacterial strain capable of decolorizing triarylmethane dyes was isolated from a textile wastewater treatment plant in Greece. The bacterial isolate was identified as Aeromonas hydrophila and was shown to decolorize three triarylmethane dyes tested within 24...

In Vitro Demonstration of Textile Dye Bioremediation by Fungi

Current study has evaluated the decolorization of textile dye Red 3BN by Peniciliium chrysogenum, Cladosporium sp. and Aspergillus niger, isolated from textile industry effluent at Bangalore. The organisms were maintained in the laboratory in Potato Dextrose Agar medium. Production of the enzyme laccase by all the 3 strains of fungi has been confirmed through guaiacol bioassay followed by decol...

Eco-friendly Biosorption Process of Reactive Blue 52 Dye Using Alga Dried Biosorbent of Filamentous Alga Species: Equilibrium, Kinetic Studies and Intervening Effect

Background & objectives: Dyes are structurally complex materials, which enter into the environment due to discharging of textiles effluent from dyeing and printing processes. Reactive Blue 52 dye is used widely in the textile industry. Therefore, we investigated the efficiency of the filamentous Alga as natural adsorbent in the removal of Reactive Blue 52 dye from textile wastewater. Methods: ...
